Take Care of your Boobies

We are in the heart of Breast Cancer awareness month now. Walks, biking, triathlons are going on to support the cause but have you checked yourself recently?

Along with doing your self exam most office offer free mammograms during October. If you are too young to receive an exam but have a history of Breast Cancer in your family (like myself) you can do a Genetic test called the BRAC Analysis. It tests it see if you have an abnormality in what has come to be known as the “breast cancer genes,” BRCA1 (BReast CAncer gene one) and BRCA2 (BReast CAncer gene two). Women who inherit a mutation, or abnormal change, in either of these genes — from their mothers or their fathers — have a much higher-than-average risk of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer.

Testing for this gene will allow you to start receiving mammograms earlier then 40 if you've tested positive. This allows for early detection so if the cancer does form you can kick its ass as early as possible. More and more insurance companies are covering the test because it is an early detector. So ask your doctor if they offer this test. You can visit for more info.

So feel your Ta-Tas, get your friend to feel them if you're not sure just make sure you are taking care of yourself.
